6/13/08 9:30 AM
Your committee is scheduled to meet with
the company throughout the day with the
intention to agree on a last best and
final. Currently the company’s proposal
on pension and GWI is as follows.
Pension: $59.00 a month front and back,
per year of service. GWI. 3.0 % for the
1st year, 3.5 % for the 2nd
year and 4.0 % for the 3rd
year. Continue to call the hotline at
638-4370 and visit the hotline at

Your committee would
like to inform the membership that the
contract normally expires on Monday June
16, 2008 at 12:01 am. However, in an
effort to reach an agreement, the Union
has not yet sent the 10 day notice to
terminate the current collective
bargaining agreement. Therefore, any
continuation beyond the Monday
expiration date will mean that we are
still working under the current
contract.
Based on the above,
Monday is regarded as a regular workday
unless otherwise informed by your
negotiating committee. We have made this
conscious decision to continue meeting
with the company in an effort to work
towards a better last, best and final
proposal.
We are still at odds
on pension and GWI.
The committee would
like to express their thanks to the
continued support and honest comments
concerning these negotiations
6/12/08
Your negotiation committee once again
met late into the evening with the
company. The long hours are expected
based on the seriousness of this effort.
However, it is unfortunate that after
hours of deliberation, your Union and
the company are still far apart
regarding the two issues that the
Membership has identified as the most
important needing to be resolved. The
main issues are still pension and
general wage increase. The counter on
these issues is as follows. The
company’s counter proposal on yesterdays
union proposals are the following:
Pension: $58.00 front and back for the
first year, $58.00 front and back for
the second year and
$59.00 front only for the third year. (
Unchanged )
A general wage increase of 3% for the 1st
year, 3.5 % for the 2nd year
and 4 % for the 3rd
year.
It is obvious that
the company is still not willing to give
this membership the respect they
deserve. Your Union Committee is
committed to continue this worthwhile
battle. Continue to call the hotline for
the latest up dates or visit the web
site on www.locallodge946.com.
6/9/08
Your Negotiating committee tried to meet
with the company’s negotiating committee
early this morning. The company informed
the union that a few of their members
had to leave for a few hours during the
late morning to conduct their normal
business with upper management. After
much debate on the importance of these
negotiations from the union, the company
agreed to defer the meeting and decided
to meet with your committee. Your
committee met with the company for less
then an hour throughout the evening.
Your negotiating team requested
information on issues such as pension
and average wage rates, which the
company did not have ready, and had to
research for the information which
caused the delays in contract talks. Our
concern is that these negotiations do
not appear to be a high priority to the
company. The union’s goal was to have
the last best and final in the
memberships hands by last Friday. The
continuing delays by the company are
making it very difficult for your
Negotiating committee to negotiate a
fair and equitable contract on your
behalf. Rest assures that these
negotiations are the upmost importance
to your committee. All members should
question management on the seriousness
of your interest in negotiations.
6/6/08
Your committee met
with the company the last half of the
day on Thursday the June 5th.
The following items were discussed;
90%-10% split on your medical and dental
benefits to offset co pays and
prescriptions, Holidays schedule of 36
paid holidays over the life of the
agreement, Article (922)Bereavement pay
language for all family members and your
committee is still in discussion of
various job descriptions. Your committee
is waiting for the company’s response on
pension, general wage increases and 9/80
work week. Your committee is working
diligently to have a last best and final
in your hands as soon as possible.
6/4/08
Your committee will
resume contract talks today Wednesday
June 4th. Your committee and
the company continue to discuss Job
description language, The bereavement
policy and 9/80 work week. Your
committee also proposed there economic
package which includes a pension of
$80.00 per year of service for the life
of this contract, and a general wage
increase of 5% increase for the first
year, 5% for the second year and 5% for
the third year. Your committee is
working diligently to get the best
possible contract for the work you do to
make this company successful as well as
this ailing economy. Thank you for your
continued support.
6/2/08
Your negotiating
committee proposed language related to
several job descriptions and bereavement
language. The negotiations schedule for
Tuesday and Wednesday will be jobs and
pension. Please attend your union
meeting Tuesday 6/03 for an update and
question and answer.
5/29/08
The Company is
refusing to meet with your negotiating
committee on a regular basis ,it seems
they are not as serious with these
negotiations as your committee is . The
Company continues to review items that
are non economic such as Article 16106
,removal of your safety committee
representatives & other issues that are
not for the betterment of the
membership.
5/20/08
Contract talks resumed this week and
your committee continued to discuss job
descriptions as we approach economic
related issues. The items being
discussed are non-economic proposals. We
have reached tentative agreements on
several of those sections of language.
The company is near the end of their
non-economic proposals Stay in touch
with your Stewards, Hotline and Web
Page.
4/28/08
Contract
talks resumed on April 24th.
There were a number of non-economic
proposals passed across the table by
both sides. There will be a Strike
Sanction vote on May 6th at
the Union Hall. Polls open at 8am
and will close at 5pm. THIS IS NOT
A STRIKE VOTE. The Strength of this
vote gives your Negotiating Committee
the best support possible to negotiate
with the Company. Support your
Negotiating Committee with 100% Strike
Sanction vote. Contract talks continued
today April 28th. Continued
to stay in touch with your Stewards,
Hotline and your Web Page.
